Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended best wishes on the occasion of the 2624th birth anniversary of Tirthankar Mahavir and wished happiness, peace and prosperity to all.
The 2624th birth anniversary of Mahavir is being celebrated as Non-Violence Day with the participation of various organisations under the aegis of Nepal Jain Parishad.
Expressing happiness on this occasion, Prime Minister Oli extended best wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to all.
Stating that Jain philosophy is one of the ancient philosophies, Prime Minister Oli said that the philosophy based on human values should free one from the sequence of birth and death of a person. He said that through spiritual experience, humans will achieve independent personality or wholeness.
On the occasion, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak also extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the entire Jain community on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahavir Swami.
He said that Mahavir had bestowed upon mankind high moral ideals like non-violence and truth. (RSS)
