Galkot: Locals have come together to protect and promote Gaja Daha, a touristic spot at Jaimini municipality-3 in Baglung district.

Gaja Daha is under the shadow in lack of physical infrastructures and publicity.

Towards this, they are organizing Mahayagya from November 23-29 to collect funds to build infrastructures to further protect and promote the tourism site.

The religious function is themed ‘Gaja Daha Sidda Barah Sreemad Bhagawat Gyan Mahayagya’, informed chairperson of Jaimini municipality-3, Krishna Bhujel.

The budget allocated by the local government for the tourism site in the last two years was inadequate. Against this backdrop, the Mahayagya is expected to help in fund collection for protection, conservation and promotion of Gaja Daha as well as reconstruction of Sidda Baraha temple, shared Bhujel.

He was confident that the Mahayagya would contribute to make publicity of the Gaja Daha which, he said, has religious and natural significance.

Similarly, Lok Bahadur Chantya, Chairperson of the Mahayagya Main Organizing Committee, the villagers currently residing abroad and local residents have pledged to conserve and promote this site.
