Kathmandu: Journalist Dilip Paudel has been honored with the “Active National Journalism Award 2081” presented by the Press Council Nepal. Paudel was awarded in recognition of his continuous active involvement and significant contributions to the field of journalism. The award was presented during the 55th anniversary celebration of the Press Council Nepal.
The Press Council Nepal is a government body responsible for monitoring and evaluating media outlets, ensuring that the field of journalism remains dignified and responsible.
At the anniversary event held at the President’s Office on Sunday, in the presence of President Ram Chandra Paudel, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung and Press Council Nepal Chairman Bal Krishna Basnet presented Paudel with a cash prize and a certificate. Paudel also serves as the General Secretary of the Nepal Press Union and is currently the head of the economic bureau at Nagarik Daily.
Having been active in journalism for over 15 years, Paudel has received numerous awards and recognitions in the past. Known for his expertise in economic, investigative, and corruption-related journalism, Paudel has previously been honored with the Barbara Adams Investigative Journalism Award, the SEJON Award from the Society of Economic Journalists- Nepal (SEJON), and the Best Economic Journalism Award from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), among many others. He was also awarded the Janasewa Shree medal by the President for his remarkable contributions to the nation and the welfare of the Nepali people through journalism.
