Police arrest three for cheating

Kathmandu: Police have arrested three people on the charge of swindling youths of Rs 2 million and 385 thousand, making false promises to send them for abroad employment.

Those arrested are Sushant Singh, 30, of Siraha Municipality-7 and currently living in Sinamangal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9; Sallauddin Beg, 36, of Krishnanagar Municipality -11, Kapilbastu and currently residing in Sinamangal and Raju Dahal, 53, of Phedap Rural Municipality-8, Tehrathum and presently staying at Hattigauda of Budhanilkatntha Municipality-8, Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku’s information officer and Superintendent of Police, Kaji Kumar Acharya said that Singh conned two people of Rs 840 thousand promising them to send to Dubai, Beg fleeced two persons of Rs 720 thousand saying he will send them to Kuwait while Dahal cheated three people of Rs 825 thousand with the false promise of sending them to Croatia.

Police apprehended Singh, Beg and Dahal from various places of Kathmandu, based on complaints by the victims.

Information Officer Acharya said they have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal for further investigation and action. (RSS)
