Taplejung: The Suketar Airport that has remained closed for over three months due to unfavourable weather condition has resumed flight services.
Chief of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Station Office Narayan Kumar Karki informed that the NAC has resumed flights to and from the airport since Wednesday (today).
He said, “It has become possible to resume flight service at the airport with improvement in the weather. Although the NAC had scheduled flights from the airtport a few weeks ago, it could not take place due to adverse weather conditions”.
He shared the Wednesday’s flight has showed possible travel arrangement though the weather has not completely improved.
NAC has set only one flight a week at present, which will be operated on every Wednesday till September 15. If the weather remains normal and the number of passengers go up, the NAC will increase the flight schedule.
The flight service has been suspended at the Suketar Airport since last May 24 after the onset of the rainy season. (RSS)
