Action plan prepared for reform of ministry: Industry Minister Bhandari

Kathmandu: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has prepared an action plan for the reform of the ministry. 

Minister Bhandari told RSS that the action plan was prepared to simplify service delivery by addressing existing problems and challenges of Industry, Commerce and Supplies sector, adopting automated system, making industrial relation   friendly, increasing production, promoting export, reducing trade deficit, protecting consumers welfare and making market competitive.  

The reform action plan was introduced to make significant contribution in achieving goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ campaign incorporating the service delivered from the ministry and subordinate bodies in this connection.

It was shared that the suggestions received from umbrella organization of private sector, start-ups, consumer activists, former ministers, former secretaries as well as concerned stakeholders after holding phase-wise discussion have been incorporated in the action plan.

The action plan has incorporated various activities for 14 reform areas of industry sector as well as incorporated 64 main activities related to policy, law, infrastructure development, promotion of mining and mineral industries, according to the Secretariat of Minister Bhandari.

Similarly, 48 main activities of commerce sector  related to bilateral trade, regional trade, trade facilitate and export promotion have been incorporated towards commerce sector while 29 main activities of supplies sector are incorporated  in the action plan. (RSS)
