Portugal: A team from the Nepali Embassy in Paris, France is going to come to Portugal to provide consular services including document authentication for Nepali nationals living and working in the country.
The embassy team will reach Lisbon on August 29, said Non-Resident Nepali Ambassador to Portugal and Nepali Ambassador to France Sudhir Bhattarai.
Ambassador Bhattarai said the team is being sent in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in view of the recent problems related to document authentication in Portugal. The team will provide verification of documents such as police character certificate (police report), birth certificate, proof of kinship, marriage registration and other consular services certified by the Department of Consular Services in Kathmandu.
The two-member team of the embassy will stay in Lisbon for about a week to provide the consular services until September 3. The Non-Resident Nepali Association in Portugal is supporting the initiative in coordination and facilitation of other Nepali organizations active in Portugal.
It may be noted that around two weeks ago, a joint team of the Department of Passport in Kathmandu and the Nepali Embassy in France had conducted a mobile service camp on passport services in Lisbon. More than 3,800 Nepali nationals had benefitted from the service on the occasion. (RSS)
