Kathmandu: Discussion on progress review of the last fiscal year, budget and programmes implementation plan of the current fiscal year as well as the main activities to be carried out by the incumbent government within 100 days is underway in presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
During the discussion taking place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Singha Durbar, today, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, chief advisor to the Prime Minister, Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Chief Secretary and Secretaries of all ministries have been participating.
Chief Secretary Lila Devi Gadtaula shared that performance agreement would be signed between the Prime Minister and Ministers soon incorporating the main activities and milestone based on the presented review and plan.
Secretary at the OPMCM, Rajesh Kumar Shrestha, mentioned that overall 63.47 per cent capital expenditure was spent, out of 3,421 determined milestones, 49 per cent was completed, adding this information was shared in the meeting.
Smooth supply of chemical fertilizer, rescue of pregnant and new mothers, who were at the risk, commencement of international air service from Pokhara have been take as achievements.
It was shared in the discussion that projects were not completed due to lack of enough preparation of budget and programmes, inter-body coordination, availability of construction materials, problems of Procurement Act, problem in land acquisition and cutting down trees.
After the review, secretaries of the concerned ministries have been making presentation of ministerial performance indicators of current fiscal year 2024/25 as well as main programmes based on people’s expectation to be done within 100 days.
The government has shown activeness in formulating budge and programmes implementation plan since the beginning of the current fiscal year.
Earlier, Prime Minister Oli had on July directed all ministers and secretaries regarding improvement in service delivery and effectiveness. (RSS)
