Kathmandu: The government on Monday decided to sack the governors of three provinces.
A meeting of the council of ministers decided to dismiss three governors appointed by the coalition government of the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center). According to Rekha Sharma, Ministry of Information and Communications, the government decided to remove the governors of Gandaki, Madhesh, and Sudur Paschim Provinces.
She said that Prithivi Man Singh Gurung of Gandaki, Hari Sankhar Mishra of Madhesh, and Dev Raj Joshi of Sudur Paschim have been dismissed. “The government has also decided to recommend new governors. Sumitra Bhandari has been recommended for Madhesh, Dilliraj Bhatta for Gandaki, and Najir Miya for Sudur Paschim,” said Sharma, who is also the government spokesperson.
The newly recommended governors are close to CPN-UML.
