Kathmandu: Narasimha Byanjankar, former chair of ward 10 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, passed away in Kathmandu on Sunday at the age of 82. He died while undergoing treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital.
Byanjankar had a remarkable political journey, winning elections as an independent candidate a total of ten times in Lalitpur-10. However, in the 2022 local level elections, he faced defeat. Byanjankar lost to his nephew, Rabiman Byanjankar, representing the Nepali Congress.
In the election, Rabiman secured 825 votes, while Narasimha received 543 votes.
Narasimha Byanjankar’s political career began with his first election victory in 1973.
