Kathmandu: Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has condemned the attack in Israel. Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israeli towns on Saturday, killing at least 250 Israelis and escaping with dozens of hostages, according to media reports.
Nine Nepalis have been injured, two of them in serious condition, according to foreign ministry of Nepal.
“I unequivocally condemn the terrorist attack in Israel this morning,” the PM wrote on Twitter. “Nine of the Nepalis have been reportedly injured. At this critical hour, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to injured Nepalis and other innocent victims and their families.”
Following the attacks, Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, has declared that the country is at war. “Since this morning, the State of Israel has been at war,” he said. “Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore the security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked. The second objective, at the same time, is to exact an immense price from the enemy, within the Gaza Strip as well.”
“We are at war. In war, one needs to be level-headed. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal – victory in the war.”
World leaders including the US president, president of France, the PM of UK and others have condemned the attack and expressed unreserved support for Israel.
