Kathmandu: Following the initial 5.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Bajhang district earlier today, the region experienced another significant seismic event. At 3:06 PM, a powerful earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale shook the area, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Center.
The impact of this second earthquake extended to neighboring districts, including Doti, Accham, Bajura, and other areas within the Sudur Paschim province. Tremors were also felt in the central part of Nepal, including Kathmandu.
Ongoing aftershocks from both seismic events have caused residents to exit their homes in search of safety. Prem Raule, a local journalist, said numerous houses in the affected area have sustained significant damage due to these two earthquakes. However, there have been no reports of casualties as of now.
