Kathmandu: The World Cultural Festival 2023, a global celebration will be taking place in Washington DC, United States, showing cultural performances across different countries and providing platforms for artists to showcase their talents.
This event commemorates the 42nd anniversary of the Art of Living Foundation, founded by the revered Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1981 AD.
Running from September 29 to October 1, this three-day event promises an enchanting blend of music, dance, cuisine, and meditation. The festival boasts an eclectic mix of live musical performances spanning from hip hop beats to classical melodies from around the world. The stage will come alive with whirling dervishes captivating audiences with their mesmerizing spins and flamenco dancers, whose stomps promise to awaken the soul.
A staggering total of 17,000 artists from diverse cultural traditions will grace the festival’s stage, offering a rich tapestry of performances that celebrate the diversity of human expression. A troupe of Nepali dancers is set to enthrall audiences with their cultural dance performance on October 1, which will be broadcast live on YouTube and other media platforms at 7:00 pm Nepal time.
The reception committee of the World Culture Festival 2023 is led by Ban Ki-Moon, the 8th General Secretary of the United Nations. Distinguished attendees include current and former heads of state, prime ministers, ministers, and members of parliaments from various countries, alongside spiritual, religious, and business leaders. Among them is Binod Chaudhary, Member of Parliament from Nepal.
The Fourth World Culture Festival is being broadcast live on various social media platforms, allowing a global audience to partake in this celebration of cultural unity and diversity. Anticipated to draw more than 500,000 attendees from all corners of the world, this event follows in the footsteps of previous World Culture Festivals hosted by the Art of Living Foundation.
The Third World Culture Festival, held in New Delhi in 2016, witnessed a staggering 3.75 million attendees and featured an impressive lineup of 36,600 artists and performers. The Second World Culture Festival, held in Berlin in 2011, welcomed 70,000 attendees and showcased the talents of 6,000 artists and performers. The inaugural World Culture Festival took place in Bangalore in 2006, drawing an astounding 2.5 million attendees and featuring 3,800 artists and performers.
The Fourth World Culture Festival promises to be a landmark celebration of cultural diversity, music, and unity, echoing the Art of Living Foundation’s mission to promote peace and harmony on a global scale.
