Kathmandu: The eighth Constitution Day is being marked across country with various programs. A special ceremony was held at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel in Kathmandu. On the occasion, President Ramchandra Paudel attended the ceremony as a chief guest. Also present were Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Bishowambhar Shrestha, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, acting PM Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, ministers, parliamentarians, constitutional bodies’ chiefs and office-bearers, diplomatic mission chiefs and representatives, government employees and journalists.
A signifying banner reading ‘Constitution Day, 2080’ was displayed and flowers were showered by the Nepal Army helicopter on the occasion. The helicopter with banner had marched around the Ring Road of Kathmandu. Different contingents of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force had performed march-past with cultural performances. Colorful balloons and pigeons as peace symbol were released to mark the day.
