Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ announced today that Nepali cricketers selected for the One-day Men’s World Cup qualifiers will receive a cash prize of Rs 300,000. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar, where the players were honored for their recent victory.
Expressing his happiness at the team’s performance, the Prime Minister praised the players for not only achieving victory but also boosting the country’s self-esteem and pride. He encouraged them to continue their outstanding performance in the future and assured them of his unwavering support.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the government had previously awarded the players a cash prize of Rs 200,000. He then directed the National Sports Council to promptly install modern flat lights and scoreboards at the Kirtipur-based Cricket Ground, and pledged to speed up the construction of cricket grounds at Mulpani and Chitwan, among other locations.
The Prime Minister promised to recognize and honor the hard work of the cricketers, and to provide them with further facilities and physical infrastructure in the future. The Member-Secretary of the NSC, Tanka Lal Ghising, and other office-bearers were also present at the event. RSS
