Kathmandu: Global Cooperation for Development (GCD), a nonprofit organization, has said that the organization has a plan to distribute educational materials and hygienic kits to over 20,000 students of public school this year.
The organization is providing support to students through the program distribution of school bags , stationary and hygiene kits, known as panda packs, according to Mukti Marasini, chairperson of the GCD.
“The support is being implemented with the financial aid from China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD),” he said. “We have accorded high priority to the students with poor economic conditions and marginalized groups.”
The organization provided 482 sets of kits to students from three schools – Ganesh Secondary School, Chandi Basic School and Chhampidevi Secondary School – on 26 February. The set includes a school bag, educational materials and hygienic kits, Marasini said.
Global Cooperation for Development has been implementing the program in 10 districts of Nepal. “We believe that the program will promote innovation in education and we can contribute to creating child friendly activities in public schools,” Marasini added.
