Kathmandu: A Chinese national has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and raping three Nepali teenage girls who were allegedly held captive by him.
The Lalitpur district police arrested 49-year-old Yang Liming, a Chinese citizen, for allegedly taking the girls from Pokhara to Kathmandu and keeping them captive in his residence.
According to Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Chief Siddhi Bikram Shah, Liming lured the girls into coming to Kathmandu from Pokhara and Jhapa and kept them captive in his house, where he allegedly raped them.
After one of the girls managed to escape, she informed the police, who then raided Liming’s house and rescued the remaining two girls. It has been reported that Liming had called the girls to Kathmandu with the intention of trafficking them to China.
