Kathmandu: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Khagaraj Adhikari has said that his only goal is to increase the strength of the province government. Addressing a program organized in Pokhara by Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, the Chief Minister said he has urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to formulate laws on the issues of concurrent powers to make the province robust.

He added that the province government will be like district development committees of the past and the existing district coordination committees if the provinces are not given enough powers. Adhikari added that there are still issues in the adjustment of the civil servants. Likewise, he promised to make the province prosperous by developing mega projects and expediting capital expenditure in partnership with the private sector. Adhikari claimed that he was one of the few persons to raise voice against the Kaligandaki diversion and advocate for making the province government powerful.

During the program, leaders of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others, shared their views on the development of Gandaki Province through physical infrastructure development, creating investment-friendly environment and tourism promotion.
