Kathmandu: The Interior Ministry of the State of Qatar has said that the validity of the Hayya Card for both fans and organizers from outside the country has been extended so as to help them enter Qatar. The decision comes into the effect from January 24 itself as long as Hayya Card holders have proof of hotel reservation or accommodation with friends or families approved via the online Hayya Card, a passport valid for no less than three months upon arriving in Qatar, health insurance valid for the duration of stay in the country and a return ticket.
After the validity extension, the Hayya Card holders will be able to invite three family members or friends, will have a multiple entry permit to Qatar and no fees will be required. According to the Ministry, the extension applies to all those who held Hayya Cards during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Authorities in Qatar in November last year introduced the Hayya Card, which served as a visa, for all local and international fans who wished to watch World Cup football events being held in various stadiums in Qatar. The Hayya card, along with the match ticket, served as an entry permit to Qatar and stadium access for football fans.
