Kathmandu: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has started groundworks for international flights from the Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport.
The NAC has started its preparation for international flights to Malaysia and Qatar and overflying through other countries from the airport. NAC Spokesperson Archana Khadka shared that the Corporation has put forth its process to get permission for flights to Malaysia and Qatar and for overflying through other countries including India, Burma, Bangladesh and Thailand.
According to her, NAC would make its flights to both the countries from Kathmandu first and land in Kathmandu via Bhairahawa while returning. NAC Chair Yubaraj Adhikari shared the NAC has placed a plan to make a flight to Malaysia and two flights to Qatar in a week.
He further shared number of flights can be increased on demand in coming days. NAC would make a touch flight at the Bhairahawa-based airport on December 19 and begin commercial flights to the two destinations. Currently, Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways and Nepal’s Himalaya Airlines have started commercial flights from Bhairahawa-based international airport. RSS
