Kathmandu: Four Nepalis died and 14 others were injured in a road accident at Barabanki of Uttar Pradesh in India on Saturday morning.
The accident took place when a truck hit the bus, UP 32 PT 3944, heading to Goa from Rupaidiha, an Indian bordering market.
According to Indian Police, the truck hit the double-decker bus at a time when the bus was parked to change the tire after it got punctured near Barbanki.
The deceased have been identified as Prem Tharu and Sheetal Tharu of Binauna village of Raptisonari Rural Municipality in Banke, and Chakra Bahadur Oli of Belatapur of Dang. However, identity of the remaining one has not been ascertained yet.
Of the injured, condition of six including Amar Bahadur, 40, of Baijapur, Banke; Rita Kumari Tharu, 35, of Barbardiya; Krishna, 28, of Dang; Kali Bahadur, 40, of Rukum is critical. They have been sent to the Lucknow-based Trauma Centre for treatment.
Similarly, Bahadur Rana, Padma Rana of Ghuiyabari, Manoj and Manamati Kaur, Sunil Tharu, Bijay Tharu, Hari Yogi and Santosh of Binauna, Banke were also injured in the incident and they are receiving treatment at District Hospital, Barabanki.
