Kathmandu: The Amendment Bill on the Citizenship Act will be tabled in the meeting of the National Assembly on Sunday, ten days after it was endorsed by the House of Representatives without any changes.
A tentative business of the upper house mentions that the bill received from the lower house will be tabled in today’s meeting. During the meeting, Secretary of the National Assembly Rajendra Phunyal will inform the meeting about a letter received from the President’s Office mentioning that the bill was sent back by the President for reconsideration.
Earlier on August 14, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had returned the amendment bill on the Citizenship Act to the Parliament for consideration.
