Kathmandu: Kathmandu, the federal capital city of the country, should have safe, comfortable, and easy-to-use footpaths. But things are just oppositive. Encroachment of footpaths is a common sight.
Moreover, there are innumerable obstacles on the footpaths. Pavements are used for vehicle parking and are encroached upon, leaving no room for pedestrians. Footpaths in Kathmandu are also encroached on by street vendors putting pedestrians at risk and forcing them to walk on the road.
