Kathmandu: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has hiked the fare of public transport with the increase in prices of petroleum products.
The inter-province fare for passenger and freight vehicles has been increased by a maximum of 7.7 percent, DoTM said in a notice on Monday afternoon.
The department hiked the fare for passenger vehicles by 5.3 percent. Likewise, the fare for freight vehicles operating on hilly roads has been increased by 6.94 percent and those in Terai by 7.7 percent.
The fare for local routes will remain the same, the department said.
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Sunday increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 21 and Rs 27 per liter respectively.
