Kathmandu: MetLife’s Senior Vice President, Head of Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, and Vietnam, Elena Butarova visited the head office in Nepal, together with Vice President, Agency, Asia Distribution, Marwan Matar.
The purpose of this five-day visit was to reinvigorate face-to-face engagement with key stakeholders as we settle into life post-pandemic, MetLife said in a press release.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Butarova oversees MetLife’s businesses in four flourishing markets in Asia, including Nepal and helps support regional operations and growth through digitized business platforms, enhanced collaboration and co-investments in regional capabilities.
During her visit, Butarova met with the Nepal Management team, Agency and Distribution Network to discuss ways in which MetLife can continue to develop a strong distribution network across Nepal.
She also honored the top performers among the qualifying Agency Managers, Unit Managers and Field Representatives for their outstanding performance throughout the year during the Annual Awards Night. She also conducted discussions on our role in the Micro Insurance sector for the upliftment of rural communities.
In addition, she participated in a session with MetLife Nepal’s Women’s Business Network (WBN) appreciating their achievements and sharing her views on important topics such as female work-life balance, emotional & mental health being, and women’s role in leadership positions.
Mr. Matar also visited different Agency offices and provided trainings to the Agency Executives, Unit Managers and Field Representatives on effectively building and operating a strong agency and distribution network. Matar has extensive experience in captive agency distribution in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia.
