Kathmandu: A team of Nepal Police arrested two persons on the charge of illegal possession of wild animals including tortoises.
The team deputed from Police Station Koteshwor held Raj Deula, 25, and Rahul Deula, 20, who have been residing in Kirtipur municipality-9, with 10 tortoises on Sunday evening.
Spokesperson at District Police Range Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali informed that the police team arrested both from a café at Kathmandu metropolis-32, Koteshwor on a charge of being involved in illegal trafficking of wildlife.
Police recovered 10 tortoises, three mobile phone sets and a motorbike (Ba 99 Pa 4944) from the smugglers.
Mainali further shared that the Koteshwor police station is carrying out an investigation into the incident.
