Kathmandu: Dr Priti Bhusal has recorded her name as the first Nepali female doctor to summit Mt Everest, expedition company Himalayan Shepherd said.
Dr Bhusal who had set out on a mission to scale the world’s highest mountain to appreciate the contribution of frontliners in the fight against Covid-19, reached the summit on Thursday morning.
“With the grace of God, we successfully summited Mount Everest early morning today. Remembered all Covid-19 warriors from the highest point on earth. Returning to camp,” reads a post on her official Facebook page.
Famous mountaineers Pemba Dorje Sherpa and Lakpa Nuru accompanied Dr Bhusal in the mission.
Dr. Bhusal had climbed the 6,119-meter-high Lobuche mountain in Solukhumbu in 2019. Dr Bhusal is working as a medical officer at Grande International Hospital, Kathmandu.
