Kathmandu: The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has stated Nepal’s economy will grow by 5.84 percent in the current fiscal year.
According to a report released on Thursday, Nepal’s gross domestic product is estimated to be at Rs 4.8 trillion in the current fiscal year.
The gross national income per capita may grow to $1,381 by the end of the fiscal year, CBS stated. Likewise, the per capita GDP may reach $1,372 in the Fiscal Year 2021-22, states the report.
The estimate of the economic growth rate by CBS is greater than that by Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, and International Monetary Fund (IMF). ADB had projected Nepal to achieve an economic growth rate of 3.9 percent while the World Bank had projected Nepal’s economy to grow by 3.7 percent in the current fiscal year.
Likewise, IMF has projected Nepal’s economy to grow by 4.1 percent in 2022.
