Kathmandu: A foreigner, who had fallen ill in the course of a mountain trek, has been rescued using a helicopter on Monday morning.
Israeli citizen, Oren Jaib Eden, with passport number 33162322, was rescued from Chandanbari of Rasuwa and brought to Kathmandu by a chopper of Air Dynasty.
The tourist had taken ill on Sunday and was rescued this morning, said Nwang Finjo Tamang of Hotel Red Panda, Chandanbari.
He was rescued only this morning due to unfavorable weather in the upper areas of Rasuwa district on Sunday.
Eden was brought to Chandanbari on Sunday evening with the support of local hotel entrepreneurs and sent to Kathmandu this morning.
Flight Manager of Air Dynasty Dawa Sherpa said that the tourist is receiving treatment at the Kathmandu-based Swagan Hospital.
Eden along with his friend had gone for trekking and he started suffering from headache on Saturday after reaching Gosainkunda. It is located at an altitude of 4,380 meters.
It has been requested to inform the Syaphrubesi-based tourist police or District Police Office if any tourist fell ill or they needed any help in course of trekking, said police.
