Covid-19 cases rise in Nepal yet again, 224 fresh cases recorded

Kathmandu: After a massive drop, coronavirus cases are on the rise once again in Nepal. The Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday said it recorded 224 fresh cases from 6,936 tests in the last 24 hours.

Nepal had reported 194 cases on Tuesday, 88 on Monday and 68 cases on Sunday.

No Covid-19 related death was recorded in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said. Nepal’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 11,949 as of Wednesday afternoon.

A total of 251 people recovered during the period and Nepal currently has 5,692 active cases. A total of 124 people are undergoing treatment at institutional isolation while 39 are in ICU and five on ventilator support.
