Five members of same family found dead in Lalitpur

Kathmandu: Five members of the same family have been found dead in Konjosom Rural Municipality-4, Nallu of Lalitpur district on Monday morning.

A member, who was earlier found unconscious, also died in the course of treatment, Lalitpur Police confirmed. The deceased are Kaili Shyangtang,55, Sushma Shyangtang, 23, Ashish Shyangtang,9, Aasma Shyangtang,7, and two-day-old child. Shubhas Shyangtang is undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital.

As per the preliminary investigation, they [five members of the same family] died due to food poisoning, said police.

A police team led by Police Inspector at Police Office, Konjosom reached the incident site this morning.

Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur SP Siddi Bikram Shah said police teams under the command of DSP at Metropolitan Police Circle, Chapagaun and SSP at Lalitpur Police Range have left for the incident site for further investigation.
