Kathmandu: British Education Group has officially opened The Woolwich Institute, a brand-new college in Knowledge Village, Dubai.
An inauguration ceremony was held on February 19 to mark the official opening.
The British Education Group has been in operation since 2003 and boasts educational institutions in the UK and Nepal, including The British College (TBC) in Kathmandu.
The Woolwich Institute (www.thewoolwichinstitute.com) is now their first establishment in Dubai, with a state-of-the-art campus based in the centrally located Knowledge Village.
Surrounded by world-class cafeteria with multinational brands including the KFC, Subway, McDonald and Starbucks. TWI offers luxury, comfort and affordability under one roof. TWI’s Dubai campus also comes with all amenities and infrastructure which are required by a student to groom and grow, the British Education Group said in a statement.
It is centrally located and close to Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah, all of which are home to many leading business hubs providing plenty of opportunities for students.
During the inaugural ceremony, Chief Guest and an Advisor to the Board, The Earl of Limerick, opened the proceedings by saying, “Change in education is the need of the hour, and we must ensure students are equipped with all the skills required for future job situations”.
Executive Chairman of TWI, Rajen Kandel, said that quality education at affordable prices is imperative to build a better future, and we will work hard towards achieving that.
The ceremony was attended by Principal Mike Griffiths, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Nepal in Dubai, Bishal Bhattarai; and Advisor to the board, Dr Khaled Hankir, among other dignitaries. Dr Hankir said, “I am extremely focused on working towards change management in the Middle East, in order to ensure that students are ready for a new future”.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Happiness, The Department of Immigration, The Saudi German Hospital, Amazon, Home Box, various schools and other educational institutes also attended the ceremony.
Admissions for the May 2022 intake are now open, the institute said.
