Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has rescheduled party conventions in the remaining 16 districts as per the 14th General Convention of the party.
Earlier, the Central Election Committee of the NC had set January 11 as the date to hold conventions. The date has been now shifted to January 29 owing to the National Assembly election scheduled for January 26.
A meeting of the Central Election Committee held on Wednesday decided to that end, said Secretary of Election Committee Keshav Rijal.
The districts waiting for the convention as part of the 14th General Convention of the party are Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Banke, Kailali, Accham and Nawalpur.
The NC has already conducted the province conventions and the central General Convention.
