Kathmandu: Goutam Kar, the newly-appointed Referee Director of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has arrived on Monday.
ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa welcomed Kar at ANFA Complex. Kar will work in the position towards strengthening referees of all levels while also training match commissioners.
Indian citizen Kar, also a former FIFA referee, has over 40 years of experience in the field of refereeing. Having retired from refereeing in 1997, Kar began working as a referee instructor and assessor. He has experience working as referee director for over nine years in India and Bhutan. He has been credited for introducing the professional referees program in India.
Kar has also garnered years of experience in the world of a match operation. He is also an experienced match commissioner who can train for match commissioner duties.
He has been appointed to the post for a one-year term.
