Kathmandu: A total of 63 people have died due to monsoon-induced disasters—floods, landslides, and inundation—across the country since the start of the monsoon this year.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 35 people have disappeared and 63 others injured.
Similarly, 565 private houses have been completely damaged and 155 houses have been partially damaged by natural disasters. Landslides have damaged 37 government buildings and 12 community buildings and schools.
Likewise, floods and landslides have damaged 25 hydropower projects, 26 bridges including seven wooden bridges, and 25 suspension bridges across the country.
