Kathmandu: Former Miss Nepal Winners (FMNW), a volunteer non-profit initiative led by former Miss Nepals, has announced a scholarship program for children orphaned during the coronavirus pandemic.
The program was announced in collaboration with DM Foundations, a non profit social organization.
“The pandemic has hit many people differently, of which children have been most vulnerable after losing their primary caretakers,” reads a notice released by IMS Group “This scholarship aims to support these children to continue their education and not have to drop out of school.”
The initiative has also requested other capable individuals to donate to the cause through a promotional video.
Previously, FMNW had organized awareness programs against menstrual taboos, encouraged environmentally friendly practices like thrifting, and conducted programs for Youth Motivation and Cancer Awareness.
“With the belief that children are the future of our country and education will help them prosper,” the press release further reads. “FMNW and DM Foundation will be dedicated to supporting as many children as possible through the FMNW Scholarship”.
