Kathmandu: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Wednesday called on newly-appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and extended congratulations for his appointment.
“Looking forward to working with his team to deepen the multifaceted India-Nepal partnership and people-to-people ties for common progress and prosperity,” the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said in a tweet quoting Ambassador Kwatra.
PM Deuba thanked the Ambassador for the congratulations and best wishes and recalled the age-old friendly relations between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nepali Congress President and the party’s parliamentary party leader, Deuba, was appointed the Prime Minister on Tuesday. He had assumed office after taking the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday itself.
