Pakistan hands over financial assistance of Rs 44.3 million to Nepal

Kathmandu: Pakistan has provided financial assistance of Rs 44.3 million to Nepal in its fight against Covid-19.

Pakistani Ambassador Syed Haider Shah on Tuesday handed over a check for this amount to the Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Dr Khagaraj Baral, the Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu stated.

“The amount handed over to Nepal is under the commitment made by the government of Pakistan to be made available through the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) COVID-19 Emergency Fund,” reads the press release issued by the Embassy.


On behalf of the government of Nepal, Secretary Baral extended gratitude to the government of Pakistan for its support in the prevention, control, and treatment of the Covid-19 pandemic.
