Kathmandu: UNICEF has delivered 500 oxygen concentrators to the Ministry of Health and Population-Nepal.
This critical equipment will be distributed to health facilities around the country, where they are most needed in treating Covid-19 patients during the current surge and to support the healthcare system’s preparedness in the future, according to UNICEF Nepal.
The delivery of this oxygen treatment equipment was made possible through the generous contribution of the Government of Canada, UNICEF Nepal said in a statement.
UNICEF said that it has been delivering life-saving oxygen equipment—PPE and medical supplies, including 250 oxygen concentrators – of which 100 were supported with funding from Canada and 150 through the Asian Development Bank since the beginning of the current surge.
These have been dispatched to Logistics Health Management Centers across several provinces, including Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Lumbini.
