Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 6,714 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Health, 6,677 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 37 were confirmed positive in the test undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 19,030 people were tested through the PCR method while 322 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.
Likewise, altogether 6,716 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 76.9 percent.
Kathmandu Valley saw a total of 1,493 cases including 1,139 in Kathmandu district, 241 in Lalitpur and 113 in Bhaktapur district in the last 24 hours.
A total of 145 people died of the pandemic during the period. Nepal recorded 1,188 Covid-19 fatalities in seven days.

The country recorded an additional 8,305 new Covid-19 cases. Likewise, 190 died of the pandemic.
May 21
The country recorded an additional 8,607 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 497,052. A total of 177 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours.
May 22
Nepal recorded 8,980 fresh coronavirus and 129 deaths in the last 24 hours. Likewise, 129 people had lost their lives to coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.
May 23
Nepal recorded 7,914 fresh coronavirus and 193 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 193 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours.
May 24
The country recorded an additional 7,425 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 520,461. A total of 185 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours.
May 25
Nepal recorded 8,636 fresh coronavirus and 169 deaths in the last 24 hours. Likewise, 169 people had lost their lives to coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.
May 26
The country witnessed a total of 6,714 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Likewise, 145 died of the virus.
