Kathmandu: Lawmakers of the senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of the CPN-UML will not tender their resignations immediately.
The resignation was put on hold after the talks between leader Nepal and UML Chairman and Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli on Thursday afternoon turned positive.
“There is no possibility of the lawmakers resigning immediately after talks ended on a positive note. We discussed forming a task force to settle the differences in the party,” leader Nepal said emerging from the meeting.
The faction had given an ultimatum till 4 pm today demanding the withdrawal of all the decisions made after the Supreme Court didn’t acknowledge the unification between UML and CPN (Maoist Center) to form the Nepal Communist Party and take the party back to the status of May 16, 2018.
The lawmakers of the Nepal faction had abstained from the voting on the confidence motion tabled by the Prime Minister.
