Kathmandu: The prohibitory order enforced in Kathmandu Valley to stem the spread of Covid-19 has been extended by one week.
A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur on Tuesday decided to extend the prohibitory order till May 12, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli told Nepal Live Today.
The order clamped on Thursday morning was expiring on Wednesday midnight.
The meeting decided to allow shops selling daily essentials to open only from 7 to 9 am.
CDO Parajuli said that it has been decided to allow banks and financial institutions to operate with limited staff. He said that permits have been made compulsory for essential vehicles, adding that vehicles plying the road sans permits will be impounded.
Similarly, government offices have been asked to operate only with 40 percent of employees.
