Kathmandu: A total of 596 artworks of 444 fine art artists will were put on display during the National Fine Arts Exhibition.
A total of 31 artworks from Province No 1, 63 from Province No 2, 289 from Bagmati Province, and 40 from Gandaki Province were exhibited.
Similarly, altogether 33 artworks were showcased from Lumbini Province, 9 from Karnali Province, and 8 from Sudurpaschim Province, according to the NAFA.
NAFA honored various artists with awards in recognition of their outstanding creations such as artifacts, folk art objects, handicrafts, and other creations.
Batsagopal Baidya and Prabin Kumar Shrestha were awarded the National Arniko Fine Arts Award. The award carried a purse of Rs 100,000 each.
Similarly, Anukumar KC, Bhajuratna Shakya, Tam Bahadur Pun, Raj Kumar Rana, Krishna Prakash Shah, Hareram Yadav, and Prakash Pun Magar were awarded under various categories. Each of them received Rs 60,000 in cash prize.
Moreover, 17 artists were awarded Rs 25,000 as a special award.
