Three killed, two hurt in separate lightning stirke in 24 hours

Kathmandu: A person was killed and two others were injured when lightning struck them at the mud-and-stone house of Nimkali Sahu at Khungkot, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-11 in Dang district on Tuesday.

Three-year-old Sameer Sahu, Nimkali’s son, who was fatally injured in the incident died today while under treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Prasad Timilsina, the spokesperson of the District Police Office.

Nimkali Sahu, 42 and her daughter Sabina Sahu, 6, have been injured in the disaster and they are being treated at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi, according to the police.

Similalrly, Two people have died when lightning struck them in Dodhara Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur today.

The deceased are 34-year-old Yam Bahadur Sunar of the Municipality-6 and 28-year-old Hiramati Rana of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-1 in the district, said Umesh Joshi, the Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office.

Thirty-seven years old Jagadish Sunar of Dodhara Chandani Municipality was injured in the incident and is receiving medical treatment at the local Primary Health Centre. He was hit by lightning while taking cover under a tree, police said.
