Kathmandu: The meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for today has been postponed. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has informed that the meeting scheduled for 1:00 pm today could not be held due to special reason and the next meeting will be held tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
However, as the meeting scheduled at 1:00 pm today could not be held, the Secretariat decided to hold it at 3:15 pm today.
In the meantime, as the parties could not reach an agreement, the meeting was scheduled for tomorrow.
In the previous meeting of the House of Representatives, the Maoists had disrupted the previous parliament meeting by saying that the ruling CPN (UML) MPs had labelled the armed struggle under the leadership of the then CPN (Maoist) as ‘violence’.
The Maoist Centre has been saying that the meeting will not be allowed until the word ‘Maoist violence’ presented in the Parliament session is removed from the Parliament’s record. The HoR speaker Devraj Ghimire had invited major political parties’ chief whips for discussions today but the meeting ended inconclusively.
