Kathmandu: Bhupendra Budha, 33, the vice–chair of Putha Uttarganga rural municipality in Rukum East died in a jeep accident at Bhungkhani of Galkot rural municipality-2 in Baglung.
In the accident, Budha’s mother Gopimaya Budha, 61, and another male were also killed along with her.
According to the District Police Office, Baglung’s police inspector Pratap Paudel, the jeep with the government number plate (Ra 1 Jha 200) veered off the road to fall some 300 meters down at Bhungkhani this morning.
The three died on the sport and one who was rescued from the accident site has been transported to the Dhaulagiri Hospital for treatment.
Rukum East Assistant Chief District Officer, Jeevan Kumar Khadka, said the Putha Uttarganga people’s representative(s) and employee(s) were traveling on the jeep. He has been informed that the vice chair went to Kathmandu a few days ago with her mother.
Though the jeep met with the accident early in the morning, locals noticed it as they had been there in the course of collecting the fodder and reported it to the police. The police identified Budha based on her identity card retrieved from the site. It is yet to be confirmed to know how many people were traveling in the jeep. (RSS)
