Kanchanpur: A tiger was tranquilized and taken into control from a sugarcane farm at Dodhara Chadani municipality-2 in Kanchanpur.

A team from the Shuklaphanta National Park and the Bardiya National Park accompanied by five elephants was mobilised to take the tiger under control.

The animal on Thursday morning killed Hira Shah, 23, of the same locality. The incident happened as Shah was collecting fodder near the sugarcane farm.

Though efforts were launched since Thursday to capture the big cat from the area, it was possible only today, according to Shuklaphanta National Park’s conservation officer Manoj Aeir.

Until the filing of this report, preparations were underway to send the tiger to Bardiya. (RSS)
