Saurya Airlines plane crash: 18 passengers perished

Kathmandu: Eighteen passengers lost their lives in the Saurya Airlines plane crash that occurred at Tribhuvan International Airport today.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) made public the names of those killed in the tragedy.

Those perished in the crash were Amit Man Maharjan, Sagar Acharya (Safety Chief), Ashwin Niraula(CAMO Manager), Dilip Verma (QA Chief), Yagya Prasad Paudel, Sushant Katuwal (Co-pilot), Sudip Lal Joshi, Sarvesh Marasini, Shyam Bindukar, Navaraj Ale, Rajaram Acharya, Prija Acharya, Adhiraj Sharma, Uddhab Puri, Manuraj Sharma, Santosh Mahato, Punya Ratna Shahi, and Aref Reda (Yemeni national).

Only pilot Manish Ratna Shakya was rescued alive from the incident site.

The plane was heading to Pokhara as part of its regular technical test.
