Karnali Corridor, Mid-hill highway obstructed by landslide

Kalikot/Baglung: Vehicular movement along the mid-hill highway has been obstructed due to landslide triggered by the incessant rainfall. 

Landslide occurred at Galkot municipality-1, Baglung, along the highway this morning which completely disrupted the traffic. Passengers have been stranded owing to transport obstruction.

Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Baglung, Rishi Ram Kandel, said efforts were underway to resume traffic by removing landslide debris with the help of police and locals since morning.

Recurrent obstructions on highway has hassled passengers most, added Kandel.

Similarly, the Karnali Corridor has been blocked due to a landslide this morning. The road was blocked due to a landslide in Lafa Bazar of Pachaljharna Rural Municipality-8 of Kalikot.

Arjun KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office Kalikot, said that efforts are being made to remove the landslide debris.

Similarly, the Humla road section under the Karnali Corridor remains blocked for the past nine days. The road was blocked after the bridge built over the Hekpa river on the Simkot-Hilsa road section in the border of Namkha and Simkot Rural Municipalities was swept away by floods.
