Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said there is the possibility of excessive heat, as it is unlikely the monsoon will become active in the central and western parts of Terai until June 21.
In a special weather bulletin issued today, the Department has called for taking precautions making the required preparedness to protect from the possible hot wind and heat wave.
Meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Saroj Pudasaini, said there is the possibility of excessive heat in some places of the Terai region in Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces since the monsoon is not fully active.
“The monsoon has already become active in the eastern region of the country. A heat wave-like situation will prevail in the western region until June 21, as the monsoon wind blowing towards the west from the east is not active,” he said. (RSS)
